Working with Menu Item Cost Price

  • How and where to specify the cost price of menu items?

Cost price calculation is available for users on M and L tariff plans, provided that financial calculations are enabled in the general settings of the Kavapp Admin personal account.

Who and where can specify the cost price:

    1. The barista or logistics operator can enter the cost price when creating a purchase in Kavapp Seller or Kavapp Logistics. In the same window, they can also specify whether the payment is made from the cash register or by another method.
    2. The administrator can enter or adjust the cost price in the Kavapp Admin personal account via “Financial operations → Cost price adjustment at the point of sale”.

This function is used both for the initial entry of the cost price and for correcting mistakenly entered data.

  • How is the cost price of items calculated in the Kavapp system?

In Kavapp, the cost price is calculated based on the average price of all purchases of that item made in the system.

    Example:
You purchase 10 packs of milk at $5 each, and the next day — another 10 packs at $7.
In this case, the system calculates the average price, so the cost price of milk at the point of sale will be $6 per pack.

This approach allows accurate tracking of product price changes over time and supports realistic financial accounting.
